USA Today reports that a vape pen caught fire in a Delta Airline overhead bin during the boarding process on a flight from New York’s La Guardia Airport to Houston. SkyWest spokesperson Layne Watson said “smoke appeared from a passenger’s bag in an overhead bin, caused by an overheated battery pack.” Watson added that the fire was caused by the vape pen’s “charger assembly” and that a “flight attendant did put it out with an extinguisher.”
